The Spookey Woods

By Marissa, Age 8

Once upon a time there was a rabbit named Adam. Adam loved to explore. But he was not supposed to go into The Spookey Woods. His mom said if he went into the woods he would find ghosts, jaguars, wolves and things like that.

One day Adam went into the woods and forgot what his mom had said about the woods. He forgot his flashlight. He knew that the woods were dark. First, he saw a jaguar that was taking a nap. Then he saw Frankenstein. Then he saw a mummy. Then a group of wolves jumped out at him. Adam didn't know what to do! By accident, he went the wrong way and fell into a big hole. He knew he was lost.

Then he heard his mom calling him for dinner. Now he could follow his mom's voice home! "Keep on calling, Mom!", Adam said. Finally he saw some light. Then he saw his house and his friends' houses, too. He ran to his house and told his mom everything that he did in the woods that very day.

Of course, Adam was grounded for a month. No TV. No playdates. No sweets and things like that. Then his mom decided that being so scared was enough consequences. She ungrounded Adam and gave him a very, very big hug.

The End

This is a MUST READ for international travelers. It concerns protecting yourself from pickpockets and other scam artists.
