International Airlines
Following is a table of hyperlinks to international airlines. We tried to
find English-language, United States departure pages, if possible.
Airlines' web pages are loaded with useful information. As you plan for your
trip, make notes of:
- Baggage allowances, including number and weights of checked and carry-on
bags permitted for each passenger.
- Recommended pre-departure airport arrival time.
- Hazardous material limitations in baggage.
- Accomodations for children and others with special needs.
- Baggage liability limitations and information on excess valuation
insurance.
- Frequent flyer programs and special promotions.
- Travel tips for your destination.
- In-flight entertainment programs and duty-free shopping on board.
- In-flight telephones and laptop computer power supply.
- Special meals. (Diabetic, low-salt, kosher, etc.)
- Destination airport maps.
- Detailed maps of airport concourses served by your airline.
- Requirements for advance confirmation of your flight.
- Aircraft seat maps, seat width and pitch.
- Contract of carriage detailing the legal contract between airline and
passenger.
A few hours before you leave for the airport, check to see if your flight is
on time or has been delayed. Those greeting your flight are advised to check the
web page as well to see if your flight is on time, delayed or even early.
Airlines have two-letter codes. Make a note of your airline's code, as this
will be displayed in arrival and departure boards in the airport waiting
areas.
Many thanks to John Murff for researching the airline alliances and
suggesting their inclusion on this website.
